A bit of catch up

Happy Halloween! I can't believe that it's halloween time and now it all begins. . .we will be ringing in the new year before we know it! Things around have been pretty crazy and I don't know why I haven't had the time to post but I just haven't. So here's update on what's been going on around here. . .

Darby got the flu that put her out for a good week, at least it was on a week where nothing was going on . . .but I tell you what, I think she was so excited to be back at school! She was BORED out of her little brain hanging with me and boys all week when we couldn't go anywhere. I went a little crazy too :) Other than that she is doing great at school. We had our first parent/teacher conference this week and her teacher said she is doing amazing! The only problem was that sometimes the kids that aren't in her class don't know if she's a boy or girl :( No big deal, the teacher just thought maybe Darby might be upset about it. . . nope . . .not Darby. . . but mom and dad, we don't like it so much :) We think she is such a beautiful little girl but I guess if you didn't know she was a girl, with the way she dresses and name that could go both ways, I can see how people might make that mistake. *Sigh* as long as she is happy with who she is and she doesn't care I'm just going to try and keep my mouth shut . . .zip! She is doing Kindermusik again this year and learned how to play the dolcimer! Such a beautiful sounding instrument and she loves it.

Trevor is finally potty trained!!!!! Yeah!!! I'm way more excited about Trevor potty training than Darby because it was such a struggle with him. After a morning of cleaning up big pieces of poop out of his bath I told him, no more diapers, we were in underwear from that day on even at night. We've tried this before but I've always gone back to diapers after cleaning up poop 4 or 5 times in underwear, but this time I vowed to stick with it. And he did great!!! Some accidents here and there but he is dry all day and NIGHT! Trev has been saying some cute things lately. Making up words for things like "swig swag" and saying things like "my brain is in my throat" for when he is hungry. He has a great imagination and loves to pretend play. He loves preschool which is such a joy to see! I taught for the first time a couple of weeks ago and had such a great time! The kids are adorable and wonderful and I can't wait to watch them grow up :) He had his Halloween program on Thursday where they sang a few songs for us in their costumes and Trev did so great, singing right along with the songs.

Brendan, well, he of course changes the most from day to day. He is now 8 months old and getting pretty close to walking. He's cruising along the furniture and standing up on everything. He is not the climber that Trevor was but he loves to make trouble other ways, like unrolling all the toilet paper in the bathrooms or putting anything and everything in his mouth :) He has one tooth so far on the bottom which is super cute, he doesn't like the feel of it under his tongue so he sticks his tongue out to the side all day :) He has found out that shaking his head no is super fun and that's kind of how he dances, he shakes his head and bounces while making all sorts of noise. I can't get it on video because he LOVES the video and anytime I get it out he stops whatever he is doing and crawls right over to the camera. . . stinker! I'll have to sniper some video soon though :)

Erich was gone this week for work and got stuck in Denver on Thursday. . . .sucked! He didn't get home until yesterday afternoon but we were happy to have him home. His parents got here on Wednesday and are staying for a little while on their way to Pullman and then again on the way back. We have a busy weekend because of Halloween and parties and football games! Yikes! Erich and I got to go to a 80's halloween party last night all alone which was super fun! I had to come up with a last minute outfit because my original one fell through so I went as a pink Treasure Troll doll :) Erich looked great as Magnum PI and there were other awesome costumes!!! We are going to our friend's house tonight for trick or treating so that will be fun. Trevor will wear his motorcycle and Darby's either going as Troy from High School Musical (the bball outfit) or as a Karate Kid. Brendan will be a gnome and we'll see if he likes wearing his costume. Anyways, I think that is the best update I can do for now. Here are some pictures of late and I will post some videos later! Happy Halloween everyone!
