Oh, I'm so bad!

I really stink at this blogging thing lately. Facebook was most definitely the death of my blog posts. Ah, well, I will try to catch up here and just briefly too. We just got back from a weekend camping trip with my sister Mary and her boyfriend Mike. It was super fun! We went to Boysen State Park in Wyoming and stopped over in Thermopolis at the Hot Springs State Park too. We made it to Thermopolis on Friday night and we were pooped . . until we got into the hotel room which ended up having bunk beds for the kids and then the kids acted like they had injected pure caffeine into their system and were wired until a late 11:00 or 11:30. The next morning, we went to the Hot Springs State park and walked around, beautiful. Then we headed south through Wind River canyon to our campsite at Upper Wind River.

Camping was great, and the weather, well, it was everything we could ever ask for (or not ask for). It was sunny and hot, rainy, thunder, lightning and wind the made us all think we were going to be thrown into the air the 5 of us and our dog in our tent! But everyone did great, Brendan was a trooper and so were D and T. Erich cooked us up some kebabs on Saturday night with some dutch oven straw-rhubarb crisp and then of course some Mountain Man breakfast in the dutch oven for Sunday morning. We left the campsite and headed back to the hot springs for some waterslides and hot soaking wonderful bliss. Got home last night and now the unpacking and clean-up can begin. . . and the repacking for our trip to Michigan on Saturday. Lots of things to do and I've spent today procrastinating and "recovering" from our weekend :) Here are some pictures.

I also spent an awesome overnight with some great old friends for a bachelorette party in Seattle! It was super fun and very surreal to leave my life as a mom and totally boring, bed at 9 person to bar hopping and dancing. Here are some pictures from that.

So besides all our trips we are enjoying a summer of lots of outside play, the pool, the park, friends, and lots of fun. Brendan is now 5 months old and pretty fun. He is almost CRAWLING!!!! He does a lot of face plants but he's up on all fours and moving all around. He's saying "mama" but mostly when he's mad and he wants me to come and get him :) He can sit up and almost get to sitting from laying down. He loves to play with Darby and Trevor and is not much into being by himself. He still is the most high maintenance kid of the 3 and I wear him almost all the time in the sling or ergo. Too bad he weighs almost 20 pounds! It gets pretty old pretty fast all day everyday. . .so somedays I don't get anything done but just lay around and play with the kids. Good for me and the kids, bad for the house.

While we are gone we are going to be having new windows in our house installed! I'm looking forward to it because a lot of the seals in our windows are broken and it looks like crap! Good reason to get new trim on the outside too. Anyways, that's it in a nutshell around here. I will hopefully have time to post while in Michigan but if, not this will have to do for a while :)
