Just wanted to say a quick Happy 2009! to everyone. I can hardly believe it. . . but I say that all the time. . .I believe it, I just don't like it that time passes so quickly these days. Anyways, we rang in the New Year at Erich's friend Chuck's wedding! It was a pretty amazing wedding and lots of fun. Tuesday night we all went out to the rehearsal dinner which was SO much fun. BBQ, dancing, karaoke, very kid friendly, it was great. The kids showed off their dance moves and Trevor even sang his ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle on the karaoke mike! Last night the wedding was a beautiful night wedding (didn't start til 8) so not quite so kid friendly, but the kids love Chuck and Alisa and we didn't want them to miss the big show :) It was super elegant with great food and lots of fun to catch up with some people we haven't seen in a while. The kids stayed up til midnight when there was a HUGE fireworks display and even got a little piece of cake on the way home. Erich stayed at the hotel and partied the night away while I took the over tired kids home. They hit the beds at about 1:00 am and no major meltdowns so that was good.
Yesterday we took down all the Christmas decorations and it is always a little sad, but relieving. Darby was crying about the Christmas tree when we got home last night but I think she would've cried about anything at 1 in the morning. Today we're barely getting going although the kids have been up since 9. We'll watch some football, enjoy some pizza, and hopefully just chill out. Anyways, hope everyone has a great day! We start Darby's ski lessons this weekend so that will be fun. Otherwise it will be back to normal next week with school, swim lessons and Kindermusik. We have a busy month ahead of us . . .so here we go 2009!
