15 inches!!!

That's how much new snow Bridger Bowl reported getting last night! On April 8th! I forgot to put the van in the garage last night and there was at least 4-5 inches on it this morning. As Erich was leaving for work he said "I thought about asking you if you wanted the van in the garage last night" . . . hmmmm, how is that statement helpful to me now when I have to brush the snow off the entire car when we're already late for school as it is? So thoughtful, my husband :) I'm about over the snow and ready for spring. At least it has been sunny here all day! Thank god we live in Bozeman when the sun shines for most of the year.

So speaking of snow, we went skiing on Sunday and had such a great time, well, for most of the day. It was Trevor's first day on real skis and he did awesome! He was skiing all by himself by the end of the day. I got to take Darby on the big chair lift and actually "ski" with her, not having to bend over and hold her hands or anything, just follow her down the hill. She is a snowplow master and it almost looks painful, it is a WIDE snowplow :) Then it was lunchtime and it went downhill for miss Darby after that. All Darby had to do was put on all her ski clothes and helmet and then we were going to head out, but it was one thing after another . . .first she didn't want her ski pants tucked in her ski boots, then she didn't want me to help her zip up her coat, then she didn't want to have her helmet buckled and on and on and with each step she would throw herself on the ground and take about 10 minutes to build herself back up to trying it all over again. Once I thought we had it made but then I made the mistake of looking at her and it was all over :) I don't know what her mental block was but she was happy once her friend Connor came back to the lodge and they had a great time playing and laughing.

Trevor had a brief little fever on Friday night and Saturday and I'm attributing it to his 2 year molars coming in. Not breaking through or anything but definitely starting their decent. I'm trying to get over a little head cold that's now in my chest, but it's very mild so that's nice. We are coming into the age of independence for Trevor . . .he is exerting his will in all sorts of fun ways. . .fun for him, not me. He loves to make messes and is learning lots of great 2 year old type behaviors from his 4 year old sister, pushing, grabbing toys, just a general not sharingness about him. Despite all that it is really fun to watch the two of them together when they are getting along, which is surprisingly a lot lately. And Darby is such a great big sister, she helps him clean up his toys, reads him books, gets him food when he's hungry.

Anyways, this week is pretty mellow, the regular schedule, but next week we start up swim lessons again at the hot springs so we will be pretty busy. It will be nice though, while Darby has lessons Trevor and I can just soak in the hot springs :) Here are a few pictures from this weekend.
