Still winter here

After a beautiful week last week with warm temps and clear blue skies we were once again reminded that in Montana, spring NEVER comes early. It just likes to tease you with the nice weather . . .then it changes in a snap. I was definitely getting a little bit of spring fever last week and I'm looking forward to a time when the kids can just go outside and play without my having to put them in layers of clothing and snowsuits.

This past weekend we went down to Big Sky for a getaway weekend with some friends and it was awesome! We went down early Saturday morning and Erich and Darby skied till about 2:00 and then Erich got to take some runs with his friend Greg . . .so fun for them I'm sure. Trevor and I stayed in and around the lodge with Kara and Nathan and actually had a great time. They loved playing outside and did great until they both got so tired and a little cranky. Darby did so great skiing and was able to go top to bottom on "Mr. K" all by herself! For those of you that don't know, that's a super long run. She had so much fun and didn't want to stay in too long for lunch, she was ready to head back out. That night we stayed in a Shoshone condo and the kids played in the pool and played and played. The adults had a nice friendly match of Yuker in which the ladies whooped the men! They might have been hindered by their beer intake but I think it was our superior play :) The kids loved staying in the condo and Darby cried when we left :) It was really fun and we plan on making it a yearly event.

This week has been pretty mellow, it snowed all day Monday and was beautiful yesterday! Erich got to head up to Bridger all by himself courtesy of RightNow Technologies. They let the employees take a half day and choose skiing or hot springs . . .of course Erich chose skiing. What a great day for it and I have to say I was a little jealous :) Anyways, we're looking forward to a visit from Anna and Leah next week . . .Darby especially. She keeps telling me to save things that I'm making for them, like dinner and breakfast . . ."you'd better save some pancakes for Grandma and aunt Leah." They might not appreciate the stale pancakes but I'm sure Darby will be happy to make them more :) Here are some pictures.
