Our weekend was fun, not the spectacular, romantic getaway I had in mind but overall pretty cool. We had some delays in Bozeman, 3 hours of delay, including bitchy TSA agents who made me throw away 2 lip glosses (and honestly I could care less about that but they were total dickheads!), waiting for our plane to arrive, waiting for it to be cleaned, waiting for some maintenance or other, waiting on the runway to take-off for god knows why, flight to Seattle, then wait again for our gate to open up, finally, wait for about 45 min to rent our car, yuck! We were supposed to get into Seattle at 8 but got in at 10:45 and didn't get to our hotel until midnight Seattle time, 1:00 am our time. But that's when it got good, no, not what you gutter minded people are thinking, a really funny guy that checked us into the hotel. He was hilarious. We stayed on Capitol Hill at the Silver Cloud Inn and it was super nice. He told us a joke about Microsoft buying up Viagra . . .the hilariousness then ensued with joke after joke that you can probably get. They called their new product "neversoft" He had us cracking up! Just what we needed.
The next day we had a great breakfast with my friend Angie, so good to see her after 2 years, she looked great and fun to catch up, never enough time though to spend as much time as we'd like together. Then Erich and I headed downtown for some birthday shopping. Fun, but insane. I'm such a country girl, I can only handle the city and the crowds for like 15 minutes, I was ready to get out of there. Erich got Kiku's on the Ave, his favorite Teriyaki and then it was out to Lake Sammamish to see the Harpers and Joe Gecas. It was great to see them and the kids, even better to see them and their kids without our kids :) Finally we hit the Mariner's game against the Tigers. What an awesome game!!!! Lots of amazing field play, a grand slam home run by Johjima and 3 strike outs by J.J. to end the game with a win! It's so much fun to see those games in person. Erich started to get sick that night so we just went back to the hotel for rest and relaxation. Sunday we hooked up with our friend Karee at her cute place in West Seattle, then it was off to meet my grandpa for lunch and home to the kids.
Of course the plane was delayed, again, for some maintenance something or other. I was just so anxious to get home to the kids, partly because my boobs couldn't take it anymore. I'm still nursing and a weekend of pumping had left me sore and ready for my baby boy. Darby and Trevor were happy to see us and grandma too :) I think things went okay but maybe next time we'll just go somewhere for a night that we can drive to.
Now we're getting back into the swing of things, the kids are still adjusting with their sleep schedules and being pretty clingy and whiny. It's hot here so that probably has something to do with it. Hopefully Darby will feel better to hit the fair and the lake this weekend. We've got lots of fun things planned. Here's some pictures over the last week or so.
