For the love of Pete!

What is with some kids?!? I just spent the last hour trying to get a totally tired and exhausted Trevor to sleep! I've had a pretty good couple of days without Erich, nothing of significance to note but today. . .today I had that simmering rage, you know just waiting to be unleashed on an unsuspecting, poor soul. I did a pretty good job keeping it in check for most of the day until tonight. When all I wanted to do was stuff my face with Junior Mints and sit down to a movie before I head to bed, but Trevor had other ideas. I rocked him, I walked around with him, I sang to him, I read to him, I nursed him, I did everything short of knocking him on the head to help him go to sleep. I wish there really was a sandman that you could send in for the job at that moment, sprinkle a little dust and poof . . .asleep. After about 45 minutes of this I wanted to scream at him "for the love of Pete, just go to sleep already!!!" Unfortunately, from experience, I know that this is definitely not an effective technique at getting your child to go to sleep. Luckily, I think he was at the end of his rope and fell asleep a few minutes later.

It was a beautiful day today and we did get some swingset and park time outside. It was fun! Yesterday we went to the doctor for Trevor's 1 year and Darby's 3 year and of course both are right on course height and weight wise, both proportional and both pretty average. They were about the cutest things in the doctors office though, chasing each other around, making each other laugh. It was nice for the doctor to see what happy kids they are! And tonight, in the bathtub they were giggling up a storm! Darby taught Trevor how to blow bubbles in the tub. It's so cool to see them playing together. Anyways, we're excited to have Erich home this weekend and haven't decided what we're up to. It's supposed to be really nice, so probably outdoor fun! Now it's time to get my chocolate and TV fix . . .
