My polite child

We are very fortunate to have a really polite child . . .most of the time. Darby says "thank you so much" with an emphasis on the much everytime she says thank you. Give her a hug, thank you so much, give her some milk, thank you so much, let her do whatever she wants, thank you so much. Whenever she bumps into me or trips over me or anything she always says "sorry mama, it's my fault." And finally after every burp or fart comes the blessed "excuse me." Today she tooted like 4 times in a row and I got 4 excuse me's, very nice. But with politeness also comes the not so polite swearing . . . Darby likes to say "damn it" and "jesus christ" which we are trying our best to change to "darn it" and "jeez louise." Not working out so great yet, but gently manuevering her to the nicer language :) That's what parenting is all about, sneaky, subtle manipulation.

Trevor went on the toilet again yesterday but unfortunately it was only a 2 day streak, we had quite the mess today. I'll have to get better at reading his signs cause man, it sucks to clean that crap up! We are on our way tomorrow morning and I'm gearing myself up for a long day of both kids and dog trying my patience in a car. Deep breaths, deep breaths, and of course a portable DVD player. Have a great Labor Day and Go Cougs!
