Trevor is so great at pretend play! He always has been and it started really early . . .I always thought it was because of having an older sister but I think it's mostly because of his imagination. Most of the day today he was a "fire dog." This is is Chinese sign and we told him that at one point and he just latched onto it. He wanted me to pretend to put a leash on him and everything. He made a great dog, following me around the house and getting underfoot just like a real dog :)
Erich took him and Darby to see "How to Train Your Dragon" a couple of weekends ago and when they got home he played like he was the black dragon in the movie for HOURS!!! Erich said the movie was amazing and obviously Trevor thought so too. He likes to play dragon still a lot and that is reinforced by the Bakugans. . . what are these things??? I remember He-Man and She-Ra and that whole thing growing up, but these days there are Bakugans, Transformers, Clone Wars crap! Maybe I just think it's crap because I'm a parent now and think my kids should only play with wooden natural toys with no commercial value . . . .who's with me? Well, anyways, the kids love it and since the Bakugans look so much like dragons Trevor loves to pretend with them too.
Trevor is also a great story teller. . .he likes to tell me the story that he wants me to tell him at night before bed. He usually lays out the basics and I take it from there but if I happen to deviate from his desired story he lets me know and steers me back in the right direction :) Who knows where he got his imagination, it sure isn't from me. . .I'm learning from the master now.
