But it has been so nice to be on the hill with Darby and Trevor. I love skiing with Darby! She is still mostly doing green runs but is getting adventurous. You know how any kid under 12 is. . .jumps, gullies, nice straight aways to dive bomb. . .everything that a mature (aged 32, mom of 3) skier doesn't enjoy :) Darby, although adventurous is still like her "mature" mother, a little cautious at times. Not Trevor. I have skied with him a couple of times and man, he just goes and doesn't think, but goes and fast!!! For a 3 year old on skis he is a brave little man. Erich said while he was skiing down with him holding the straps and apparently slowing Trev down he turned around and said "I want to go fast!!!" He's doing great on his own on Snowflake, the tiny hill and I guess all Erich has to say is "don't run into anyone" and he doesn't :) Which is a feat on snowflake because there are a lot of kiddos and beginners skiing on that hill.
Anyways, it's really so much fun to head up there and amazingly cheap . . .for now. Now we've got our kids hooked and we'll be shelling out money for equipment and passes for years to come. I remember Anna, Erich's mom, telling me that although they didn't have a lot of money to spend on skiing it was always the funnest times they had together as a family. I hope that's the case with us too. Here's some pictures of our good times!
