Joy

I know a lot of you have heard me use the word Joy but mostly associated with our preschool curriculum "joy school." Well, today I am going to use it to describe Trevor . . .he just is a prime example of joy, not all the time mind you, but a lot of the time. For example, we were in Barnes and Noble the other day and the kids each got a gift card to buy some books so they were tearing around the kid section and you could probably hear Trevor throughout the entire store saying things like "Darby, look it's Captain Underpants!" or "mom, there's Spiderman" and on and on. The only thing he did say that wasn't in his excited, high pitched, almost yell . . .when he passed the Disney princess books he said "eeww, look Darby, there's the princess stuff, girlie, yuck!" At least Darby agrees with him on that one. He also couldn't wait to buy his own books with his own gift card! He was excited but the 3 people standing behind me were anything but joyous watching us run 3 separate transactions just so my kids could "buy their own books." :)

Trevor can find joy in about everything that he does and it was evident today when we started him in his own Kindermusik class. He didn't know a soul in the class of about 8 and was one of 2 boys but he was singing his little heart out and laughing at the songs at all the right times. When he got his drum and bag full of home materials he couldn't wait to rip into them and play, play, play. He even skipped lunch he was so excited. I just love to see him smile and laugh, he is such a joy to me and to most around him. . . except for Brendan who has been on the wrong end of Trevor's affectionate but aggressive hugs and kisses. He'll grow to love him too, how can you not?
