I don't know what it is but I hate posting when I don't have any pictures to go with my stories. My words just don't seem enough. . .well, we'll see.
So I must say that I am exhausted with capital X's through my eyes. Today was my first time teaching of the year and man those kids can wear me out! Thank goodness for a field trip and beautiful weather. . . my house did not look like a tornado hit it after everyone left for once. I am really excited for school this year, the kids are just amazingly different . . .so ready to learn, more patient, ready with answers. . .it's great! We added an extra 1/2 hour on this year for a Kindergarten Readiness curriculum and it is awesome! I can't wait to see the difference from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.
After school today it was clean up/lunch and then Kindermusik for Darby. I don't know where in my slowly shrinking brain, I thought 1 hour, or really 45 minutes, was enough time to run to the 10 different places I needed to go, with Trevor in tow no less. I end up running around and sweating my metaphorical balls off for 45 straight minutes and show up to pick up Darby looking like a train hit me. Well, at least I got everything done.
Now I'm trying to get all my prep work for school on Thursday done today because Erich and I have to get the house ready for some tile installation on Friday. That's right we are finally getting our floors put back in after the septic system mishap. With that we decided to tile our entryway and Finally install tile in our master bathroom which has been in "remodel" mode for 3 straight years! We will get the tile on Friday and the carpet in the basement bedroom and closet next week. Then we will be all ready for the drive through of Rich and Anna on their back to Michigan and for the arrival of the Eastmans the next week.
Last week we had a lot of fun with Rich and Anna and they we so helpful, as always with some house projects that just needed to get done. On Wed. Darby and I went a saw a live performance of the Veggie Tales which was pretty cute, I must say . . .not too much religious stuff, which I was surprised about but lots of singing and dancing and giant blown up veggies that talked :) We had fun and then when we got home Rich and Anna were there. Darby has been g0-g0-going for over a week and NOT sleeping well, due to excitement and whatnot. But thanks to that she has gotten a little cold which hasn't seemed to slow her down too much, it just causes spontaneous preschooler combustion when something doesn't go her way, I think she lost it today because I gave her 5 pieces of paper to draw on instead of 6 . . .hopefully that will go away with her cold.
Otherwise we are all doing well and just trucking along. It's beautiful here this week and we will definitely be enjoying the outdoors while we can! Hope everyone else is having a great fall!

I am sorry to hear that Darby can break down over paper, but it makes me feel better when JJ breaks down over what spoon he uses! Are you teaching kids in your home? Is it like a pre-school co-op?
