The summer is winding down

So sad to think that the summer is almost over! It went by so fast and makes me long for the days back in elementary and middle school when the 3 months of summer was like an eternity. School starts up for us in the Tuesday after labor day so it's back to work for us moms. We are also going to start up Kindermusik, swim lessons, and gymnastics for Trevor . . .we will be busy this fall.

This past weekend was another busy one and one more that kept us away from the work that we, at this point, have to get done on the house. That includes just general cleaning and yardwork too. . .I don't think we'll catch up before the snow flies :) Anyways, on Friday the kids and I went up to Canyon Ferry with our friends the Neils and had a great time on the lake. The dads met us up there that night and then watched the kids while Kara and I went to Missoula for our course.

The kids had a lot of fun in the boat and tubing! It was their first time and I think it went pretty well . . .except that Darby was tossed out of the tube on Sunday while the dads were being reckless with the boat . . . okay not really. . .but she did bounce right out of it when they hit a little wave. I bet it was a funny and scary experience, funny for dad, scary for Darby. But I guess she was a trooper and got right back in. I wish you could capture those moments on video or camera. When they get older and that's the goal, to knock them off the tube, I'm sure we'll get lots of moments like that :)

This week we are trying to catch up on housework, grocery shopping and just hanging out. We hit the pool yesterday afternoon because it has been bleeping hot here. It was great! Darby is doing so well with her swimming. After watching the Phelps mania I think she's starting to try out certain strokes. She's mostly doing backstroke and freestyle but it's looking pretty good. Hopefully today will be a little milder in heat, I can tell you that I'm really looking forward to fall. Anyways, I leave you all with some pictures and videos of our weekend fun!
