Busy Busy

Where or where has the time gone? This last week seems like the biggest whirlwind. After a frantic week of getting everything ready to go, I left the kids in the very capable hands of their dad to go to Heather's baby shower in Sacramento on Saturday. So I left on the early flight Saturday morning and was in Sac by 9:30. The baby shower was great fun . . .besides the fact that Heather would not just relax and ended up with some early contractions . . . her little girl is bound to give them all sorts of unexpected surprises in her lifetime I'm sure :) On Sunday we just hung out and I got to relax a lot but because I'm still nursing, I still had to pump. . .kind of a pain in the ass but what are you gonna do? I love nursing my baby :) I flew home on the early flight Monday morning and was home with my babies by 11:30. I think they missed me because they've been whiny, needy, and clingy all week. . .a sure sign right? Erich did awesome by the way! I know they had a lot of fun :)

On Monday I was exhausted and had to get ready for preschool here at our house on Tuesday, no small feat when you consider I was going on a combined 10 hours of sleep for the whole weekend and needy kids. School actually went great and the kids are getting psyched up about goals and learning to do new things. Then yesterday we had a dentist appointment for Darby, a playdate with a friend, and then lunch and the hot springs with another friend, phew . . . I definitely needed a nap yesterday. Today school was less than fun as Darby threw maybe a hundred fits where I had to remove her to her room. It was so frustrating and hard to teach with her screaming and Trevor demanding to be nursed every time I sat down. Sigh, but we made it and we're all much better this afternoon. Darby and I got some good time together this afternoon while Trevor napped and he seems to be feeling a little better about me not leaving him anytime soon.

We're headed to Big Sky this weekend for a stay overnight with some friends at a condo. It should be really fun and I'm looking forward to skiing down there. We are getting dumped on right now, it's great! Anyways, hopefully in the next week or so I will get a chance to blog more about what the kids are up to. I will definitely have more time. I love the feeling after a crazy couple of weeks when it finally settles down, it reminds me of the day of your last final in college . . .releasing and freeing. Aaahhh!

How great for you to get away for some girly time. Awesome that Erich had fun watching the kids while you were gone....I totally know what you mean about pumping, I haven't done it in months and hopefully won't have too....so much nicer just to nurse....still can not believe I pumped full time the first year with the twins....I think weaning Lila will be the hard part for her and me....Have fun skiing....
