Feeling about 60!

What a pair Erich and I are these days. I am walking around like a grandma, wanting to pull out a walker, because I hurt my back this past weekend and both Erich and I are so sore in the arms from wakeboarding it's like a moanfest around here. You turn 30 and your body goes to hell and a handbasket . . .geez!

So I have been a horrible mother today and I'm blaming it partly on my sore back and inability to play on the ground with the kids but mostly its because of that stupid J.K.Rowling . . . Harry Potter is so addictive I can't . . . put . . .it . . . down! I am such a huge fan of all the Harry Potter books and I'm just riveted to it, can't wait to find out if my theories are correct. I won't spoil anything but man this last book is super sinister, of course it can't really be a happy go lucky book with Lord Voldemort wanting to capture and kill Harry at every turn. Well, I'm enjoying it still. Erich and I went and saw the last installment in the theaters yesterday and I have to say that I enjoyed that as well. But man, Harry Potter really isn't for kids! Maybe reading the books because they can use their own imagination but the imagery in the movie was creepy and dark and the things that nightmares are made of when you can't separate reality from movies, yikes! So my kids will be 21 before they can watch the Harry Potter movies, have alcohol, have a girl/boyfriend, drive a car . . . hmmmm, is that possible?

Anna and Rich left this morning and as always it's a bummer to see them go. The kids miss them already because they are such great playmates. I'm not quite as fun. But I think we are all looking forward to a couple of weeks of normalcy to get back on schedule. We had a great weekend, excepting injuries. Friday we drove up to Canyon Ferry with our friends the Neils, Kara, Greg, Connor and Nathan (Connor and Nathan are almost the exact same age as D and T and Kara is a PT too). Anyways we stayed at their "cabin" or very nice house on the lake and had fun boating and playing the water. I hurt my back by hauling a very heavy cooler by myself and then the next morning I woke up to run 4 hard, hilly, miles and then a few turns on the wakeboard. Yeah, I don't think that was the best idea . . .it seized up on me around lunchtime on Saturday. After 2 hours of sitting in the car on the way home Saturday night, I was hurting! Anyways, it's much better now but still not 100%. I feel like a slob and my arms are so sore I can hardly put on my clothes without grimacing.

So that's this weekend in a nutshell, we have a busy fun week planned and we'll see how it goes with this stinking heat . . .can it just snow already? Here's some more pictures
