Easy like Sunday morning

Okay so the morning is pretty much over here but it's been a really nice one so far. I know I've been really lazy about blogging but I just can't seem to find the time to sit down and do it. So what has been going on with us since the last post? Well, when we left off last, Darby was about to start soccer. She did that on Wednesday morning and had a blast! After a little drama for me that is . . . I swear I signed up for 10:30 and that it was at Beall park. So we showed up there at 10:20 and there was a lesson going on already and surprisingly few 3 year olds for a lesson starting at 10:30. So 20 min later and no sign of anything, I finally decided I must've had the park wrong. I felt so bad! Darby got up early that day and had been talking about soccer for so long, she was so excited. I thought I had missed it and was about to break down and cry when I found out it started at 11:30! Thank god for 1-800-GOOG-411 or I wouldn't have been able to call the rec dept from the car. Anyways, soccer was great and Darby had so much fun!

Thursday was preschool and while Darby was at preschool Trevor, me and Sierra went for a run up Sourdough. It is quite the run and VERY rocky. It's straight up for as far up as you want to go. I hit the 3 mile mark and headed down. It actually took longer going down because of the terrain and having to slow to a snails pace so Trevor wouldn't get Shaken Baby Syndrome :) But it was a beautiful day and nice to just have me and Trevor. Darby's friend Emma came over to play and I realized what a bossy child I have . . .she was constantly telling Emma what to do, like she does with Trevor every single day. Well, luckily Emma is a sweetheart and no major girl fights or anything, thank goodness.

Friday we went to the Little explorers thing again but this time it was the forest service and Smokey the Bear was there. They let the little kids have little water gun thingys to "put out the fire", finger paint, and check out the mint green forest service mobiles. Of course Darby was just a Smokey the bear groupie and didn't want to do anything else :)

We've had a great weekend so far. Yesterday we went for a hike with our friends Kara, Greg, Connor and Nathan. Connor and Nathan are pretty much the same ages as Darby and Trevor so that was fun. The kids did great on the hike in to the river and had their moments on the way home, but really a surprisingly enjoyable morning. Erich and I then worked in the yard while Darby played her little heart out with Sam next door and his cousins. Whew, I couldn't believe that Darby wasn't exhausted last night. We had a visit to DQ before a BBQ next door and then a bonfire last night. It was a perfect day, productive but fun.

This morning I got up and did my Sourdough run without Trevor, much nicer not having to push anything up hill :) The weather was great, and mostly in the shade the whole time. My iPod lost battery at like 1.5 miles so for 4.5 miles I just had to listen to my labored breathing, bo-ring. Well, at least the stream was gurgling and the birds chirping. Very nice all around. Darby's back next door playing up a storm and Trevor just woke up from a nap. We're headed to another BBQ this afternoon so that will cap off the perfect summer weekend. What did Erich and I ever do before kids? Anyways, I'm looking forward to a mellow week and having more fun outside!

Here's a few pics . . .I gotta get some better ones but this is all we got :)
