It seems like lots of stuff is going on and I just don't know where to start. We'll start with Darby's big accomplishment last night . . .sleeping in her own room in her own bed!!! Granted, Erich went in and slept with her for about half the night but still a milestone, none the less. Rich and Anna, Erich's parents, just left this morning after helping us put things back into some order in the house, thank you! Now we have a lot of work left to get the house somewhat organized, in addition to finishing the trim, the bathroom, the landing, and on and on, it never ends :)The kids are changing so much lately, it's amazing but bittersweet. Darby is becoming more and more her own person. She is starting to express empathy and lots of emotions. She thinks things are "scary" (like Shrek, and the wicked stepmother from Cinderella), and she asks things like "why are you mad mom?" or "why did you just yell at daddy?" (just kidding on the last one . . .the other is true). She also says "I'm so proud of you mom" "You're such a good girl" and "hope you feel better." It's just crazy the things she grasps and remembers. She remembers everything, we have to really work on being consistent with what we say . . . if we say we're going to ice cream after dinner, we had better remember or by god, Darby will certainly remind us :) Darby is also expressing herself via her art :) She is starting to draw and paint actual things that actually look like the things she says they are . . . this is a picture of her dolphin, Anna's is the one in the middle, Darby's is the big one.
Last thing on Darby and I swear I'm done . . .when we went out to eat the other night she acted like such a grown up. The waitress came to the table and asked if anyone wanted to start with something to drink and Darby said "yea, I do" :)Trevor is also growing up so fast! He is such a boy, I can hardly just hold him anymore. He just wants to be moving or grabbing or chewing on something. He was spazzin out on a dinner plate last night just grabbing it and trying to shove it in his mouth. He's also making more sounds like "buh buh" and motor boating a lot. He's piking into downward facing dog and sometimes pushing himself backwards so I think he's going to start crawling pretty soon, he even got on all fours this morning. Look out world . . .Trevor's on the move! Finally he has the best sense of humor and giggles at everything. Him and Darby just get going sometimes, it's so fun and sweet to see.
So is that enough of an update for now? Lots of pics on the flickr site and I'm sure we'll have lots more after trick or treating tonight :)
