Holiday cheer

So I can hardly believe that Christmas is a short week away! The kids are definitely getting exciting and all the bedtime stories I'm making up have to do with Santa. Tonight I told Trevor that Christmas was a week away and he said "you mean he's all done with all the toys?" So cute. He and Darby have watched "Frosty" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" a few times . . .they never get tired of it. I do love Burgermeister Meisterburger and talking in my German accent when I read them the book :)

The month of December has been crazy with a capital C,R,A,Z,Y! The first weekend we had very cold weather and blizzarding snow and for some odd reason decided that would be the best time to drive up into the woods and cut down our Christmas tree . . . it was one of those "what were we thinking" outtings. We made it up to an okay spot in the van, bundled everyone up and headed out into the blowing, freezing, snow! Poor Brendan, he didn't know what to think. Darby was a trooper and had the best attitude of us all! Erich did a great job hiking up the mountain to pick out a great tree! I actually deleted all the photos we took but here are a couple I was able to upload before I stupidly hit the "empty trash" button for all the december pictures.

Darby has continued her basketball season, doing awesome! She's the little point guard and has made several shots during practice and games. Tomorrow is her last game, but she has had so much fun with it!

We are now officially on christmas vacation so that means 2 weeks of bored, sugared up, hyped up kids! Even worse, this week Darby missed most of the week because she was sick. All the kids got sick with a terrible, terrible cough! Ugh, we sound like a TB ward. . . but everyone is in good spirits and all on the mend. At least it happened the week BEFORE Christmas!

Anyways, here's a video of Brendan who is getting SO big! He is almost 10 months and walking and talking and waving and just becoming a little boy. . .I can't believe it. (password: hannanfamily)
