My 3 year old man

So I guess we'll start with a post about Trevor's Birthday. Trevor turned 3 on May 28th and we had a very causal birthday party at Fuddrucker's for him. It was perfect, I didn't have to clean and all I had to do was make the cake. He woke up first thing and I said "Happy Birthday Trevor" and he said "Happy Birthday to you!" :) He got to open up his new fluorescent orange jersey (which is now his favorite color) with his name and the number 3 on it. Online, the orange didn't look quite so bright. . .at least we can't lose him in that thing, it's like the vests you use to make sure hunters don't shoot you in the woods.

What can I say about the kid? I love him, he is just a little wild, sensitive, man. There's no other way to describe his behavior lately, he's just a boy! Trevor loves to figure things out and unlike his contemplative sister who thinks through all the steps before deciding to act, he just does it. We're constantly having to put things back together that he has taken apart and clean up after he decides to see just how gravity works. He loves his legos, building and pretending with the tiny man. He is constantly hugging or loving on one of us . . .his love for Darby is shown with more tackles and headlocks these days :) Trevor really does seem to be the most sensitive of the kids so far, screaming more for hurt feelings than for physical pain. The other day he threw a rock at a bouncy house and the rock came right back and hit him in the nose! Bloody nose and mouth but after about 2 minutes of clean-up he said "I'm fine mom." Not so when he thinks we're angry with him. I was frustrated with him one day and I calmly told him (okay, maybe yelled, I just can't say for sure) to get in his carseat and he said "that's not appropriate way to talk to me mom." :) I couldn't stay mad for long.

Anyways, he is such a gem of a kid and although I hold him up to the highest expectations he is constantly exceeding them with his ability to love and enjoy and be a kid! Happy belated Birthday Trevor, I love you!
