I give up, I give up, I give up! On potty training Trevor that is! So, I'm not trying to toot my own horn but I thought I had a lot to do with why Darby was trained so early (20 months). . .clearly, that is not the case and Trevor is teaching me humility in parenting . . .it was all Darby and maybe a little me, but truly I had little to do with it. Anyways, Trevor, he will only be ready when he is ready, come hell or high water, and I can do nothing but just wait for it to happen! I've been pretty lazy with him and putting him on the toilet to go pee off and on since he was 18 months. Recently my sister in law told me to just do it, just tell him we're done with diapers and do it. So that's what I did . . . we started using thick thick training underwear and putting him on the toilet every 1/2 hour and trying to be positive, positive, positive. Let me tell you, he has the holding it down pat, some mornings he's dry as a bone, but he can not pee on the toilet! I got him to do it once, and yes, I'm bribing the crap out of him too, but other than that it's just been changing his underwear and pants at least 5 times/day. That also includes the number two which is gagifying! Anyways, we've been trying it for 2.5 weeks and after 3 #2s yesterday including some in the bathtub, and 3 #2s today, I've had it!
The thing that I don't get . . . if he gets the slightest drop of anything on his shirt or pants, he is screaming bloody murder, "my pants are dirty, my shirt is dirty!" Oh, but he could care less if he's got a wet butt and poop mashed everywhere, he would sit in wet and poopy underwear all day if I let him. Sigh, I was hoping to get this done before pumpkin head arrives but alas, he's not ready, maybe we'll try again in a month, but for my sanity and my children's safety I will let it be for now.

Wow, that is the story of me training the twins....I had to wait and I hated waiting, felt like my girls were too old to be still wearing pull-ups & diapers...but when they were ready it was pretty easy.....He will get there! Hope you have a great rest of your weekend....
Whoops....Shawn was signed it...Too funny...It was me who wrote the above!
I thought it kinda funny to see a comment on Shawn handling the potty training! (Not that he couldn't)
We all are feeling for you, Molly! I haven't even given it a thought with Jaocb yet!
