Happy (belated) Fourth of July!

I hope everyone reading this had a great Fourth of July! I swear I have been having the hardest time posting anything here on the blog. I keep meaning to and meaning to but I just never get a chance. That last post I started on July 3 and finally got around to finishing it tonight . . .we're just crazy busy doing absolutely NOTHING!!! How awesome is that? We're having a great time on the lake and enjoying some beautiful days. The lake is still a little cold but I finally braved it today and went "swimming." That means I walked out into the water for about 20 minutes contemplating diving in (I don't like to just pull off the bandaid), then finally dove under and got my hair wet, gasped for breath because the cold knocked it out of me, and rushed to shore to warm up :)

Trevor has been loving it outside and for the most part Darby has too . . .although she has become pretty particular about her enjoyment of things outside. No bugs, no sand, no rocks, no getting dirty . . .What?!?!? Well, she finally decided today to don her bathing suit and hit the water, and of course had a great time. Maybe it was just too cold for her too until our awesome day today. She has driven the boat a few times and loves it! Trevor too but he's a little heavy on the throttle, he can't do it unsupervised :) We had a relaxing fourth and went for a boat ride to the South end of Torch lake to watch the fireworks over the water. Really fun and cool. The kids loved the boat ride at night but it was co-old! Tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer so I'll work on my "swimming" and general enjoyment of the lake and sun, it's going to be tough :)

We tend to overdo the taking of pictures while we're on vacation so here is the first installment of many . . .there are a lot so be warned!
