The kids have been really fun lately, Trevor is just such a little person now with his own little personality. Trevor can now communicate with signs and a several choice words. His favorite word is still "ball" which he says any time he wants something. "Ball" means "gimme that ball" and "gimme that book" and "gimme whatever Darby has" and of course "I love you mom!" We are working hard on manners and he is getting to the point where when he really wants something, like something sweet, he will sign "please." He hasn't picked up "thank you" yet but soon I hope. Trevor is still a crazy climber and climbs on EVERYTHING. He's also fallen down the stairs, oh, maybe 3 more times . . .I even keep the gate closed at all times but that little stinker can move furniture and sneak through the banister and head down the stairs with nary a notice from me. It never seems to slow him down and that's kinda scary. I'm hoping he'll learn from his mistakes instead of disregarding all consequences, like bashing your head on the stairs, and do it again. One last thing on Trevor . . .he is the messiest eater ever! Darby never ate well until she was about 15 months old and I remember thinking "if she would just eat" . . .but I tell you that was way better than how Trevor is. Every meal requires at least a 15 minute clean up of the surrounding area. I am always looking for "mess-less" treats and meals. If I just fed him ice cream we'd have no problem. Erich and I are not exactly good examples of healthy eating.
Where do I start with Darby? She is too smart for my own good . . . I can't seem to keep up with her some days. We're all about giving options and now she's been into negotiating and after I give her her options she says "how bout . . ." and comes up with her own solution. Sometimes it's hard to stick to my guns because she comes up with some pretty good ones. She's also super sweet with Trevor, most days, telling him she loves him, that he's so cute and sweet, and then swiping any and all toys that he is enjoying. I'm about to start yelling "Swiper no Swiping!" and maybe that will get her attention. When I hurt my back she was so sweet, she said "do you want me to rub your back?" Oh did I! It was great! What good are kids if not to teach them how to give you massages, foot rubs, pedicures, and the like? I'll have to try and remember more of the cute stuff she does and better yet, get more video footage. Anyways, here's some pictures from the last week, I'm slacking again on pictures. I think there are about 2 days where I didn't take any of the kids! Heaven forbid we not have a picture of the kids on everyday of their life! Digital cameras are so great!
