We are in some serious trouble if we decide to stay in this house when Darby gets a little older! Darby is the only little girl on the block! We have 4 older boys that live across the street and 1 boy, Darby's age that lives next door. There's even more down the street . . .there's a little girl baby next door now and maybe 1 or 2 about 5 houses down but the ratio is not good. On Friday Darby had her friend Emma over to play and the girls were just out there riding bikes and scooters when the gang of boys from across the street started circling with their bikes . . .very menacing . . .Emma was scared I think but Darby loved it, she loves playing with the youngest boy from across the street, who's 5. The boys are actually very nice but we'll be locking the doors and windows and I'm sure Erich will set out the shotgun . . .you know just for show.
Yesterday marked the date of our first toy in the toilet retrieval expedition, the first of many I'm sure. Trevor peed on the toilet and threw his toy right down there. He thought it was hilarious but Erich and I were pretty grossed out, we had to get the tongs out so neither of us had to stick our hands in it. I could care less if Trevor peed directly on me but there's something about sticking your hand in the pee that's in the toilet, gross. Trevor is definitely getting some more teeth, he has 6 now, still to get 6 on top and 8 on the bottom to make the full 20. He has just been the biggest whiner, all weekend long . . .and poor guy couldn't catch a break yesterday, he had to nap in the backpack on our hike, he fell off the windowsill, did a face plant off Erich's lap, and conked his head on the corner of the door as Erich carried him down the hall :( Today seems better but I'd better knock on wood.
Darby looks like such a big girl today, she's got a little hat and overall shorts, and the kicker, she's chewing gum . . .it's just so grown up. Can't we just stop them from growing up too fast?!? I love these stages right now, they're so great and fun, just pause my life please :)
